NASRA is a non-profit association whose members are the directors of the nation's state, territorial, and largest statewide public retirement systems. Today, state and local government retirement assets total more than $2 trillion, and NASRA members oversee retirement systems holding more than two-thirds of those assets, providing pension and other benefits to most state and local government employees. NASRA’s mission is to engage in advocacy, research, and education activities that promote best practices among its member systems and enhance the retirement security of their participants. NASRA Associate members are private sector firms (including many global investment banks and asset managers) that work with governmental retirement systems.
Technology Engineers developed NASRA’s website to include many features needed by large associations to administer a diverse, nationwide membership. The conference registration system was specifically designed to incorporate the many business rules and activities that take place during major conferences. Technology Engineers graphic designers also design and fabricate signage and other informational postings for national conferences.

The Public Fund Survey is an online compendium of key characteristics of 102 public retirement systems that administer pension and other benefits for 12.8 million active public employees and 5.9 million retirees and other annuitants, and that hold more than $2.1 trillion in trust for these participants.The membership and assets of systems included in the survey represent more than 85% of the nation ’s total public retirement system community.
The survey is sponsored by the National Association of State Retirement Administrators and the National Council on Teacher Retirement and is maintained by Keith Brainard, Nasra Research Director.
