Biz2School is a web-based system built to establish a connection between
Louisiana businesses and schools to facilitate collaboration between the two
entities. There are five different types of user access to the Biz2School
system: public users, school users, business users, RESC users and admin users.
Public users have access to limited information in order to see how much
activity is in a specific region. School and business users can register to use
the system on the Biz2School website. During the registration process, school
and business users set up a profile with contact information and services
provided or requested. Once registered, school users can view details on
registered businesses and can send requests for services to a single business or
to multiple businesses. Business users then accept or decline the requests. Each
time a request status changes, an automatic email is sent out to the appropriate
party to inform users of the change. Once a request is completed, the business
and school rate the opposite party.
Admin users and RESC users have the ability to oversee activity within the
Biz2School system between the school and business users. The difference between
the two user types is that RESC users are limited to activity within their
assigned region whereas Administrators have access to the entire
system. Furthermore, these user types can remove a business from the system at
their own discretion, send customizable blast emails, and run system reports.
This system was built using ASP.Net 3.5 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008
